AWARDS AND JURY

The Golden Olive-tree and the other Awards

All movies in the competitive section will be sifted out by an International Jury that will award the Best Film with the “Golden Olive-tree” and with a cash prize of Euro 5.000.

 

The Awards - Edition 2007:

Best Film: Golden Olive-tree

Winner/s:

The international jury composed by Hrvoje Hribar, Nursel Köse , Lia Morandini, Silvana Silvestri, Gianluca Tavarelli, has thus expressed their preferences: BEST FILM GOLDEN OLIVE TREE AWARD to PUDOR by Tristàn and David Ulloa (Spain, 2007). For mastering with original solutions the daily surrealism applied to a discussed issue and in progressive transformation or dissolution such as family.

FIPRESCI Award

The FIPRESCI jury, composed by the critics Sauro Borelli, Lidia Maslova, Thomas Rothschild has wawrded as Best Film Hope by Stanislaw Mucha (Poland, 2007).

Award as Best Cinematography

Winner/s:

BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY AWARD to The BANISHMENT by Andrej Zvjagincev (Russia, 2007). A work of great expressive depth already internationally appreciated, of which we want to emphasize a leading feature of its complex architecture, able to express the perfect but deceptive harmony of the past with the invention of an inner landscape.

Best Screenplay Award

BEST SCREENPLAY AWARD to THE BANISHMENT by Andrei Zviagincev (Russia, 2007). As second element of keeping the distance by any realistic setting, in a skilful game overcoming the present time that makes us share its vital pessimism.

Best European Actor Award SNGCI

Winner/s:
I am from Titov Veles
To LABINA MITEVSKA protagonist of I AM FROM TITO VELES. For a delicate, touching interpretation focusing with a feminine intensity a world of ‘lost souls’, in a reality deeply changed from industrialisation to environmental degradation.

Special Audience Award
